GETTING TO HORSESHOE BAY FERRY TERMINAL
Public Transportation
To reach the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal from Downtown Vancouver, take the #250 Horseshoe Bay or the #257 Horseshoe Bay Express buses. If you're arriving from Vancouver International Airport, take the SkyTrain Canada Line to Vancouver City Centre station, where you can catch one of the buses to Horseshoe Bay. For a smooth public transit experience, visit the Translink website to plan your trip to Bowen Island, BC.
Car
From downtown Vancouver, follow the Upper Levels Highway (99-1) to the Horseshoe Bay ferry terminal. You can either drive your car onto the ferry for easy exploration of Bowen Island or park in the secure parking garage at Horseshoe Bay and walk onto the ferry. While a car isn't necessary for exploring Bowen Island, it makes accessing Bowen Island's attractions and things to do more convenient.
TAKING THE FERRY TO BOWEN
The Queen of Capilano ferry departs from Horseshoe Bay between 5:50 AM and 10:00 PM, with a crossing time of approximately 20 minutes. Your BC Ferries ticket includes a round trip, so no need to purchase another when heading back to the mainland. For your return, simply lineup for the ferry along Bowen Island Trunk Road. Check the BC Ferries website for updated schedules.
GETTING TO WOODLANDS
Car
After you disembark from the ferry, continue straight through the main intersection. The road will turn into Grafton Road. Continue on Grafton Road until it makes a sharp right turn onto Adams Road. Woodlands Guesthouse is located on the left-hand side. We share a driveway, so keep left and park in the designated spot at the top.
Public transportation
Upon arrival on Bowen Island, head to the bus stop next to the Public Library/Gallery on Cardena Drive. Take the 280 Bluewater bus and let the driver know you’re getting off at 1237 Adams Road. You can pay your fare with a Translink Compass Card, credit card, or cash. Transfers from Vancouver's public transit system are valid on Bowen Island without additional charges.
